FALLING
"Refuge"
Created from a place of curiosity about combining different elements into one image. This piece was constructed from a collection of scrapped images at my disposal to then be collaged together for reference. Although this reference didn't hold much movement, my imagination allowed me to conjure an idea for a story that would unify these elements.
"Self Reflection"
acrylic and clay
The feeling of being strechted too thin in everything that you do that you have to pick up the pieces of you that have broken off.
gouche on cardboard
ink and marker on paper
ink and collage on paper
Both represent a common theme, isolation, and loneliness with the fiery of assuming a face that can peel at any moment unleashing the torment that is built up and needs to be released.
ink and acrylic paint on paper
oil pastel on cardboard
ink and marker on canvas
"Calculating"
the feelings of being new to someone that you like and you're still figuring out if they like you back or not, Going around in circles pushing and pulling until hopefully getting in sync.
Acrylic on canvas
"Invasion"
As my first introduction to oil paints, this piece took me over 4 months to complete this painting.
Space has always intrigued me but "invasion" movies intrigue me more.
Searching with an exploration of space to be cast away into the galaxy bringing only destruction, you can't unsee the torment ahead of you only to see your hand undoing what you love. Mixing and creating while destroying in the same breath. retaliation comes in merely seeking empathy.
